Provisional Patent Filed with the USPTO — April 6, 2026
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to share that I just filed a provisional patent with the USPTO for DazzleCam — a modular personal defense system I've been designing.
It's a compact device that combines a camera, high-intensity LED flash, and an audio alert into one unit. When activated, it uses sound to trigger the human orienting reflex — the attacker involuntarily looks toward the device, which simultaneously captures a clear photo of their face and delivers a temporary dazzle flash (30–90 seconds of flash blindness, no permanent harm).
The core module snaps onto any GoPro-compatible mount — pistol grip, helmet, velcro strap — so it works handheld, head-mounted, or body-worn. One device, many configurations.
Every activation automatically captures and uploads a complete evidence package — time, date, GPS location, video, and audio — creating an unalterable record of the incident.
Optionally, DazzleCam can instantly alert your trust circle with your location, so the people you count on know where you are and that you need help.
I'll share more as the project develops. This is just the beginning.
