Three Big Things

Quarex Civic Constitution · Quarex Explore · New Blog Post

Hi everyone,

Three things launched today that I want to share with you. Each one represents a different piece of what Quarex is becoming — a civic AI platform that is published, auditable, and built for the people who need it most.

1. The Quarex Civic Constitution

A published framework for ethical civic AI

This is the document that defines how Quarex governs its AI — not through marketing language, but through a published, auditable constitution. It covers our core operating principles (free access, accuracy, neutrality, transparency, independence), what we bring to an AI model partnership, and why model selection is a constitutional matter, not a vendor preference.

The key insight: you cannot instruct a model into civic integrity. The model's trained values must be compatible with the ethical framework at the training level — not just the instruction level. We tested this. One major AI platform failed completely. This document explains why.

2. Quarex Explore — Research Sessions

Browse 47,297 topics by tag. Save what you find. Export for research.

Quarex Explore is a new interactive tag browser that lets you click through our 957 tags to discover chapters across 1,001 books. But the real power is Research Sessions — you can save any chapter to a named session ("Gaza blog research," "History curriculum," etc.), then export the list as a portable research package.

Here's the big idea: that exported list works with any AI. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other AI assistant and say "research these topics using these Quarex sources." Quarex becomes a research launchpad for whatever AI you prefer.

Sessions persist in your browser — come back tomorrow and your research is still there.

3. New Blog Post

"I Tried to Make AI Behave. Here's What I Learned."

A personal account of what happened when I tried to implement civic governance principles across multiple AI platforms through prompt engineering — and why the experience taught me that ethical AI is the most important thing anyone can build right now. This is the story behind the Civic Constitution.

Quarex now indexes 1,001 books, 7,391 chapters, and 47,297 topics. Every 2026 federal race. Every country on Earth. In 19 languages. Free. And now with a published constitution that tells you exactly how we govern the AI that powers it.

As always — use it, share it, challenge it. That's the whole point.
